Rating: pg-13/teens
Archives: Silmarillion Writers Guild & Quills & Ink
Story info: This novel was initially written for the NaNoWriMo '07, but after three years of editing and re-writing, I've decided to let it go.
Author's Notes: Thank you Wenont, for being such a patient editor throughout all of this and for your precise editing. During the NaNoWriMo '07 I had the best cheerleading squad ever at my LJ: thank you all guys, when I complete this novel I shall give you all a proper thanks!
Summary: It is said that Maglor composed the Noldolantë before he was lost, but none was said about his personal accounts. The warrior bard wants to take you on a journey, a story that will tell you the tale on how a musician became a relentless kinslayer and warrior.

Summary: Maglor's life and, in the end, fate seems to be influenced a great deal by the Oath. But what defined him at the very core? A tripple drabble or actually a drabble series with three true drabbles.

Author Introduction: A very special tip of the hat goes out to the late General Douglas MacArthur who's farewell speech at West Point in 1962 inspired me greatly.

Duty, Honor, Country: Those three hallowed words reverently dictate what you ought to be, what you can be, and what you will be.
-- Gen. Douglas MacArthur, speech to the USMA cadets, 1962

Duty

It is my plight, being his son, to follow him wherever he would lead us. Duty lay heavily on me and his gaze - unrelenting, steadfast, and determined – there would not discharge from it. This is what I was ought to be, leaving all doubts behind me. Duty defines us: it is in our blood, the tears we shed as we sought our way out of here, forever seeking the light that he stole from us, demanding nothing more than the truth. None shall understand me; I know this, and many shall place us in darkness with the evil we fought.

Honour

I embraced the highest moral law in all I have done and still will do: fighting for what is right, sacrificing all I ever wanted for the noblest cause thinkable. For honour, I faced death in battle and danger, often wondering or questioning the restraints placed upon us in his design. All have called upon me, and I gave all accordingly, forever praying for peace each time I pick up my bow and draw my sword to fight the darkest foe. None shall understand me; the sufferings I faced and tried to bear the deepest wounds and scars of war.

Country

These green lands and long beaches, this is what I inherited: an inevitable end after all that has passed. I cannot return to whence I came, the shadow always remained serving as a warning to remain vigilant for his return. Yet, old memories haunt me: those of glorious victories and profound loss as those who I had sworn to protect fell away. Sometimes I still hear the crashing of sword upon armour, the roaring sounds of creatures and dangerous fires scorching my neck. Always defending, never yielding. None will understand how three words defined my life: Duty, Honour, and Country.

“Stillness is the tranquility of the inner life; the quiet at the depths of its hidden streams. It is a collected, total presence, a being ‘all there,’ receptive, alert, ready . . . It is when the soul abandons the restlessness of purposeful activity.”

Summary: Maglor and his wife seek reprieve on a hot summer day.
Archives: Open Scrolls Archive.
Author Introduction: drabbled for the OSA drabble challenge #67: Ice and for the SWG August challenge Hot Summer, Hot Stories. Well what can I say, some bunnies just need to be set free.

A brisk wind swept through Maglor’s Gap, delivering a welcomed moment during this simmering summer, which kept the lands in its grasp. The heat kept most inside, seeking relief in the cool halls of the dwelling.

The elf-lord himself sought his reprieve while he studied a cube of ice. With a smile he looked down on his wife who laid there expectantly in anticipation for him, just as she sighed in contentment when his lips skimmed her breasts, he traced the object from her bosom down to her inner sultriness, clearly revelling in the exquisite touch of ice and fire.

Character: Maglor/OFC
Rating: R
Warnings: adult situation
Genre: Romance
Summary: Two bards, hands, whispers, movements and finding each other in longing.
Author notes: initially drabbled for Drabble Madness challenge Ass'kicking hawties (well it is pretty obvious Maglor is that for me) and OSA drabble challenge #62: Mind in Gutter.

Warm and soft hands, slightly marred and calloused by wars, slide over my skin, stirring a longing I feel for him. His soft and yet commanding voice beckon me to give into his wish and my mind eagerly responds to him, wanting to be quenched by his fire. He is a master of all instruments; I mould into his hands and hear how my lips bring forth a different sound with every ministration he evokes. Soon our voices join, two bards alike, trying to create a song of two souls, but also to fulfil a need so ancient and pure.

But Curufin, dearest to his father and chief inheritor of his father's skills, was wedded, and had a son who came with him into exile, though his wife (unnamed) did not. Others who were wedded were Maelor (Maglor), Caranthir.

{edit, the second bit I wrote for the [livejournal.com profile] drabble_madness was Autumn Hunter, because Celegorm did had his opinion about that as well}

Summary: Maglor on the shores of Middle Earth while still remaining true to the Oath. This is another exploration of his reasons to linger on the shores while the jewel dwells in the ocean.
Author notes: Written for the OSA drabble challenge #59 "Swimming"

The ever-changing tide refused to return what belonged to him. In his dreams, he heard it whisper: in his nightmares it lashed out to him repeatedly. Yet, the sea called to him, beckoning for surrender and to return home for his judgement. The Bard could not and remained where it once hit the waters, recalling exactly where it drifted shortly on the wild waves before it sank into Ossë’s sheltering arms. This was his eternal vigil, Oath keeper to the end of Arda, remaining assured that none would delve into the dark expanse, daring to claim it as their own.

Summary: When Daeron finally sets sail for Valinor, he is watched by the mightiest singer of the Eldar.
Author Note: Written for the OSA Drabble Challenge #38: Common Ground. Thank you, Isil Elensar, for the small tweaks.

Mightiest singer of all. Right. And on what are they basing that? What reach does the voice of this Sindar minstrel have? Can he reach out over lands and sea? Can he keep his tone steady, firm, and encouraging when singing to strengthen your men during battle? Did he ever touch arms at all? What might granted him to sing at the Valar's court? Suddenly, my heart shrinks and I remember. For a moment, I cannot breathe, think, or stand straight. The punishment and bereavement of all that I once held strikes true and leaves me both bitter and alone.

Summary: Nerdanel cannot longer withstand a lament.
URL: Open Scrolls Archive
Author Introduction: Written for the OSA Drabble Challenge #32: Left Behind. I initially had a NC-17 drabble in my mind for that, I tried to keep it to 100 words, but I failed utterly, closed the document and received looks on how on earth I could have abandoned such a bunny. So instead Celegorm is still left behind on a bed, all tied up.

Anyhow, I am currently writing an AU fic over at the OSA and for some reason the relationship between Nerdanel and Maglor has been big on my mind, it will be explored in Maglor's larger story that I am working on, but Nerdanel kept in insisting on being used for this drabble. I've included the author notes that might hint on what Nerdanel's wish exactly is (imho), but as usual, I rather leave it up to the reader what they think of it.

Author Note: Written for OSA Drabble Challenge #13: Seeing Something New

Here I stand, in a dark room in Tirion, holding something that is so pure and resplendent. It speaks to my heart with beauty and promise. ‘It is now your turn my son to see something I created.’ Up until now, I had no idea what he meant with that. I do not hear his voice to put them back, I simply cannot. They sing to me, enchant me, and encourage me to go beyond the boundaries set upon me. His hands forces me to let go, I never encountered him this angry. Silently I vow: ‘I will protect you.’

Music: the balm for suffering. It is better then to hear the harsh words spoken by my brother who heatedly urges us all to pursue them. Maedhros tries to calm him down, but I cannot bear to hear this malice. My companion sooths my soul with beauty.

But then, in seconds, she is ripped away from me and her snares cringe in protest. Instead, I sense the blade nearby.

'The Oath cannot use dreamers, Maglor. Are you with us, or against us?' Caranthir's eyes show me greed, but I swore the same Oath. Always together. I have not forgotten Father.

Summary: Arda's mightiest singer reflects on his life.
Author Note: Written for "OSA Drabble Challenge #8: City of Many Names". Try to use all of the Names of Doriath, or Minas Tirith, or Gondolin or Moria or whatever place with more than 2 names in a drabble.

I have seen many places in my life: an oath foresworn on the steps of Tuna, killed many in Alqualondë, Doriath and other places I will not name. Maybe it was for the best we never beheld Gondolin, neither was it our doing that Minas Tirith fell.

Now, that I wander these shores, I hear others singing praise of Moria’s stone halls, but my eyes are bound to the West. Only the city of Dol Amroth enraptures my heart, her I love most. For I am Maglor the forgotten, bound to the sea and singing laments of deep regret forever.
