Well, I don't think Curufin was that holy, nor was Celegorm (soon I let him slide off to his darkest nature in one of my stories) an Celebrimbor had reason to shut him out, yet at the same time it feels to me that to shut himself off to such a nature, he also overlooked Sauron's intention. Perhaps he wanted so much to believe that this was a new age and smiths (or craftsmens) did not had any ill intent towards they creations. I do not believe in strict good or evil, those characters who are grey are so interesting to explore.
